- In industry, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) holds the status
as the most widely recognized of the Nationally Recognized Test Laboratories (NRTLs) in
the US, although other NRTLs have been making up significant ground in
recent years. In addition to being a convenient 10 minute drive from our lab here in
San Jose,
UL is a former employer of our founder (almost three decades ago!).

- We have been working with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for almost twenty
years, and most often work with the Pacific Region office in Vancouver. If you cannot
visit them personally, and stop over at Whistler for some skiing, visit their

- For European Union third-party approvals, SEL has worked with TUV Rheinland for over
22 years. Visit its site for topics,
such as ergonomics and Japanese approvals.

which has some useful collaborative tools, such as application sharing, without requiring
more than a downloadable plug-in to your browser (camera not necessarily required at your
